My name is Ciara Grant. I grew up in Navan, Co. Meath. I studied in Trinity College Dublin at the Centre for Deaf Studies where I qualified as an ISL/English Interpreter in June 2016. I am currently the student representative to the Council of Irish Sign Language Interpreters (CISLI) committee.
I have enjoyed being involved and working within the Deaf community. Throughout my studies I have been very grateful for the opportunities I have had to work with other interpreters, the Deaf community and to develop as an interpreter. I have also gotten the chance to volunteer with groups such as the Irish Deaf Youth Association (IDYA) and Sharing the Journey.
I am looking forward to starting my career to further develop my skills and work in a variety of settings.
In my spare time I like to stay active running and orienteering but I do also balance this with my interest in baking!
